Garden gatherings. I love this combination of roses, lilac, ranunculus and lavender. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who bought dahlia tubers from me over the past week! I have now sold out. I plan to get mine in the ground this week, after the rain we’ve had it will be the perfect time.

Hi folks, I have surplus dahlia tubers left over from my sale last weekend that I need to move on ASAP, they really need to get into the ground. As such they have been heavily discounted. They are offered as packs of 8 tubers for $50. They are all named and will come from the list below. The packs are random, you will not get to choose. There are only two packs which will have a double up. I have 12 packs available, for pick up this weekend only, and must be before 5pm Sunday 26th October. Please comment below and also send me a direct message so I can provide you with details for collection. Payment by cash (preferred) or card. This works out to just over $6 per tuber which is an absolute bargain! Thank you.

My annual dahlia tuber sale is happening tomorrow, Sunday 19th October in conjunction with the Meadows Country Fair. This is an “in person” sale only. Locals looking to start or expand their dahlia collection, this is for you! Open from 9am - 3pm or until sold out. No pre-sales or holds to make it fair for everyone. Pictured are a few examples of what I have available. I have 25 different varieties which is the most I’ve ever had for one sale, although some are in very limited numbers. I had a go at growing some chrysanthemums this year. This was my favourite, Baltica Salmon. I grew them in large pots because I was out of garden space, I’m pretty sure they would have done better in the ground (like most things!). Might have to make some space for next season. If you grow them let me know in the comments, I’d be grateful for any tips!

This was my last arrangement of the dahlia season, made for the arrival of my new grandson, Jack. I used pretty much everything I had left! Now they’ve all been chopped back and I’ve lifted some that I’m going to move. I’ve literally just plonked the clumps into plastic pots and dumped some dirt over the top, leaving them to overwinter in the wood shed. Nothing fancy here!

Well it’s been awhile! Thought it was time to pop in and say hi. Most of my dahlia season has been a disaster. Drought, mites, herbicide poisoning (all my seedlings 😢) and a new one for me - rabbits! I do have a few nice ones coming through now, and as we finally got a bit of rain today after months of absolutely nothing I am feeling a bit more positive! I just love rainy days, they are so good for the soul.

Thank you flowers 💕
For me the best part about growing cut flowers is gifting them. This week I had my very last remedial massage with Lucy who I’ve been seeing for over 7 years. She’s resigned to take on a different career path, and I’m devastated! As well as the most amazing massages she was probably the best mental health therapist I’ve ever had! I will miss her and I wish her all the best.
