Hey everyone,
It's important to keep your business secure. By following a few simple steps it dramatically changes the odds of any robberies.
Business owners, this one’s for you -
Recently, we have received some reports of aggravated robberies around SA.
We’re working to help create safer communities and you can play a part. Here’s what you can do to prevent crime and protect your staff –
🔸 Ensure your business has CCTV and security systems of the best quality affordable. CCTV footage that looks like it’s been filmed on a microwave is not ideal. The better the quality of the footage the higher the chance of identification.
🔸 Cash registers should be positioned in such a way that the cash cannot be seen by customers.
🔸 Please train all staff about how to respond in the event of an armed robbery. This should be conducted as an integral part of all staff inductions and then maintained and renewed annually.
🔸 Business access points should be well-lit to allow easy visibility for staff on duty.
🔸 Limit the amount of cash held on the premises and where possible, avoid keeping cash on premises overnight - publicise this fact.
