Landscaper (Structural) – Leading Hand

We are a registered, (structural landscaping and pool building) well-regarded, established company ready to welcome a Leading Hand to join the team, full-time.

As part of the Flawless team, you will enjoy successfully leading the construction of premium residential landscape projects and be looking to expand your career within our business. We are prepared to invest in our employees’ career and personal development.

Suitable candidates to join this growing business will have the following:

Trade qualification (Landscape Construction – Cert III or higher)
Current Victorian Manual Driver’s License
MR truck licence or ability/desire to learn to obtain one
Minimum 6 years structural landscape construction experience

Ability to work positively within a team, engaging well with directors /staff/clients/subcontractors

Suitable candidates will engage in the following workplace attributes:

Effectively manage 1-5 landscapers / labourers / sub-contractors to ensure efficient construction progress
Manage project timeframes
Manage material ordering and budgets
Participate in ‘on the job training’ for apprentices
Ability to read and understand plans and written procedures
Complete construction to a very high quality, with excellent attention to detail
Lead by example and show a strong sense of initiative
Skill and experience in earthworks, concreting, paving/tiling, decking/carpentry, retaining, fencing, garden edging, drainage, irrigation, lighting, planting/turfing, etc.
Basic computer skills (word, email, etc).

Despite the fact that Premier Andrews explicitly stated yesterday that restrictions would be as per Lockdown 4.0, and the Government website this morning clearly indicated the same, it was noted that the website was changed with no notice at approximately 11.30AM. In a Stakeholder meeting at 4PM this afternoon, it was confirmed that works on occupied residences can no longer be carried out.

As of 11.59PM Thursday 15th July Victoria entered a snap 5-day lockdown to 11.59PM Tuesday 20th July.

- The 5 reasons to leave home will be reinforced (care and caregiving, essential work, education, and to get vaccinated);
- The 5km travel limit will be reinforced;
The requirement to work from home where possible will be reinforced;
- Masks must continue to be worn indoors and outdoors (in public areas). When working and under exertion, one may remove their mask to complete the task, then resume wearing it once finished.

Residential: Occupied Sites
Work may not resume on occupied sites.

Residential: Unoccupied
Commercial: All Sites, Construction and Maintenance
To the best of our knowledge, there is no limit on worker numbers:
- Workers must wear face masks (see above conditions)
- Physical distancing to be maintained at all times

Commercial maintenance works to only continue on occupied sites where it is required for general health and safety purposes (such as retirement villages.)

Landscape Designers/Architects
Encouraged to work from home if possible. It is suggested meetings with clients or construction crews are held over Zoom/Skype, etc.

Supplier Members
Supply to sites that are operational may continue. Retail sales should be operated under Click & Collect arrangements.

Other aspects to note
In any situation where Members continue to work we remind you of the need to comply with social distancing and hygiene requirements.
Rules follow you - so if you are Metro and need to visit a Regional site you can do so, but must make every effort to minimise contact with others.

Is it essential that businesses continue to follow their CovidSafe Plan.

A worker permit will not be required during the 5-day lockdown.
Download and display the signage available to remind people of the need to check in, and other safety measures. There is also LVML branded site signage available on this COVID Business Advice page.
