If you’re planning a lawn renovation, here are a few terms you’ll hear a lot — and what they actually mean:
🟢 Overseeding
Adding new grass seed over your existing lawn to thicken it up and fill bare spots. Great for improving color and density.
🟤 Aeration
Pulling small plugs of soil out of the lawn to relieve compaction. Helps roots breathe, water soak in, and nutrients reach deeper.
🟩 Dethatching / Scarifying
Removing the layer of dead grass and organic buildup (“thatch”) sitting on top of the soil. This lets new seed make contact with the soil and improves growth.
🧱 Topdressing
Spreading a thin layer of soil, compost, or sand over the lawn to improve soil structure and help new seed germinate.

Prepare your lawns for Summer!
We’re midway through Spring and the temperatures are starting to
climb! Now’s the perfect time to strengthen your lawn before the summer heat kicks in. Using wetting agents, Pure seaweed, and growth regulators will help your lawn stay healthy and resilient during the high stress months ahead. These products improve drought tolerance, boost root strength, and help your turf handle the heat with ease.
What is a wetting agent? A wetting agent helps water move evenly through the soil and prevents dry spots from forming on your lawn. Over time, soil can become hydrophobic, meaning it repels water. This causes irrigation or rain to sit
on the surface and run off instead of soaking in where roots can use it. For best results, apply Pure wetter every 2-6 weeks during the warmer
months to help your lawn retain moisture, preventing dry patch.

We replaced half this English box hedge just 3.5 months ago — and while it’s still catching up, it’s already thriving and blending in fast. Healthier, greener, and growing strong. 🌿
It’s still early days, but the turnaround has been real.
Want to know what we’re using to get results like this?
Drop us a message — we’re keeping it low-key (for now 😉)

Great read

I am often asked about my books, and which ones should I buy? so I thought over the next few days I would share with you what they are all about.

"Edible Gardens a practical guide"

Its thanks to Vasili that kick started my witing career. Edible Gardens a Practical Guide: tells you why growing vegetables in rows as the market gardens do is not the way you should be growing your own food at home. By growing an edible garden using the principles of companion planting, you’ll have a more productive and healthier garden with fewer pests and diseases. With plenty of tips on growing herbs, fruit, and vegetables, as well as recipes to care for your garden the organic way, Edible Gardens: A Practical Guide will make you re-think the way you grow your own food. The book has companion plants lists making it easy to find what plants go well with others and which ones don't go so well together. The book also contains chapters on sowing seeds, wicking beds, keeping chickens, an introduction to aquaponics, and a host of other subjects that will stand you in good stead whether you are a seasoned or novice gardener. It truly is a practical guide on how you can use your entire garden as a place to grow much more than just ornamental plants, sneaking edibles and companions amongst the entire garden.

A little about me the author: CRAIG CASTREE is a regular guest on Vasilis’s Garden to Kitchen teaching TV viewers how to graft and care for fruit trees. A qualified Horticulturist with a total of 40+ years’ experience in retail and wholesale nurseries, Craig has always grown his own food using traditional and organic, permaculture methods. Craig Castree runs a range of workshops with not-for-profit organisations to deliver the important message of eating healthy food raised without chemicals, helping people to become as self-sufficient as they can in 12 months. He is the current president of Werribee Park Heritage Orchard and received Wyndham City Council’s Volunteer Environment & Sustainability Award for 2015.

Pure Iron+ by Lawn Tips is good because it provides an intense, fast-acting green-up for your lawn by stimulating chlorophyll production, making the grass look vibrant and lush. It also strengthens the lawn against environmental stressors like heat and drought, helps control moss, increases disease resistance, and promotes overall turf vitality and resilience. The liquid formulation with manganese and fulvic acidensures quick and efficient nutrient uptake, delivering quick, visible results.

How it Works
* Stimulates Chlorophyll: The iron in the product is essential for photosynthesis, enabling the grass to produce more chlorophyll, which is the green pigment that captures light energy and makes the lawn greener.

* Quick Uptake: As a liquid, it is applied directly to the leaf, and the added fulvic acid helps facilitate faster absorption by the plant’s leaves, providing rapid results.

* Boosted with Manganese: The inclusion of manganese further enhances plant vitality by activating enzymes and improving overall nutrient uptake.

Key Benefits
* Intense Green-Up: Delivers a deep, vibrant green color.

* Stress Tolerance: Strengthens the lawn against environmental stressors such as heat, drought, and heavy wear.

* Health & Vitality: Supports the lawn’s overall health, resilience, and ability to recover.

* Moss Control: Helps to control and limit the growth of moss in the lawn.

* Disease Resistance: Improves the lawn’s resistance to various diseases.

When to Use It
* Year-Round Maintenance: Can be used as part of a regular lawn care program to maintain a lush look.

* Quick Boost: Perfect for a quick visual enhancement or when preparing for an event.

* Dormancy Support: Beneficial during cooler months when lawns might struggle or enter dormancy, helping to maintain color.  LawnTransformation
