Wall tile on the floor. It happens more than you'd think. 👀

One of the most common (and costly) spec mistakes we see? Swapping wall and floor tiles without checking the basics first.

Here's your quick reference before you lock in that selection:

✔️ Slip Rating. Floor tiles need a minimum R10 for dry areas, R11 for wet zones like bathrooms and pool surrounds. Wall tiles? Often unrated. Don't assume.

✔️ Finish matters. A beautiful honed or satin surface looks stunning on a feature wall. On a floor? It becomes a liability. Textured or matte finishes are your friend underfoot.

✔️ Grout width. Larger format tiles need wider grout joints to allow for substrate movement. Skipping this step leads to cracking, lifting, and very unhappy clients.

✔️ Movement joints. Non-negotiable in any tiled area over 4.5m, and around all fixed elements. Your tiler will thank you. So will your warranty.
