Arthropodium milleflorum Pale Vanilla Lily

Pendulous star-shaped flowers open through spring and summer. Flower spikes bow to support rows of buds, each seeming to wait patiently for their turn to open.

A delicate looking subshrub which naturally grows along rainforest streambanks. The tiny snowy white flowers appear throughout the year, suspended from the branches on slender stalks. They're followed by globular fruit resembling squat paper lanterns. We haven’t come across a lot of info about the ecology of this species, if you have anything to contribute we’d love to hear it!

If you feel like a damp outing today, come down to West End State School's fiesta - cnr of Jane, Horan and Hardgrave rds. Kids' rides, trash n treasure, live music and bar. And a beautiful native plant stall! Funds raised go towards the P and C.

Most of these wildflowers are hard to spot as they only show themselves for short periods of time during the year. It can be a very rewarding experience once you start seeing them.
