Just off the Bruce Highway is the Eumundi Golf Farm situated on flood prone land and formerly operating as a cane farm. The location is perfect for a golf course due to its water reserves and gentle undulations. The project features modular, prefabricated buildings that are easy to construct and relocate.

Key sustainable features include on-site wastewater treatment with raised irrigation trenches and solar panels for renewable energy. Native plants & trees like the bunya pine, will be reintroduced to restore the natural ecosystem. The majority of the site is flood prone land that flows directly into the Maroochy river. Because of the sensitivity of the site, the design recognises and incorporates existing natural water courses and vegetation.

The Eumundi Golf Farm aims to cater to all skill levels and be a family friendly destination that enhances the local economy, provide a community asset, and offers a low impact eco-friendly golfing experience.. A resident mob of kangaroos and neighbouring cattle and horses adds a unique twist to the normal perception of a golfing precinct.

Many homeowners face the choice between knocking down or rebuilding. For this Tarragindi home, the renovation will reimagine the 1950s post-war house while preserving much of the original character. The goal is to integrate the old with a new layout that meets the needs of a large extended family.

The existing post war home is a modest 100m2. Through careful planning and integration of the spaces, the home will accommodate 5 bedrooms in total. Additionally to increasing the floor area careful considerations was taken to maintain the existing northern courtyard a great retreat in winter and the southern pool area the perfect summer escape.

The site for this house is located on steep undulating farm land overlooking the Derwent River in Tasmania. The main challenge for this house was always going to be the steep site, steep sites are harder to build on and cost more money. By arranging a series of cascading boxes terraced along the natural fall of the land better material efficiency was achieved . Why squares? mathematically squares are a very efficient means for enclosing a volume in terms of the amount of external lineal material needed to enclose an area. Less material / m2 of area = less cost.

The cascading square boxes are to be constructed from concrete and locally sourced stone making them effective heat conductors. By sinking the boxes into the earth they benefit from geothermal heating at the basement level and solar heat gain from the sun to upper levels resulting in a more consistent temperature throughout the building with out any mechanical intervention. A ventilation chimney is incorporated in the design by way of a central stairwell which provides a means for cooling the building on hot days.

The brief for this 1920's Brisbane home renovation was to modernise, bring light and air and improve functionality. The existing house house layout is dark and compartmentalised, partly a result of a past confused renovation combined with the original closed plan arrangement of a 1920's home.

The renovation attempts to reinstate the formal procession into the house with a more open plan living approach. Natural ventilation and light is a major focus to every room and clear vista from the front of the house to the rear chances the connection to nature.
