The Repotting Co

The Repotting Co Helping Brisbane plant lovers keep their indoor plants thriving! We offer expert repotting and personalised plant care services.

Plus, shop our hand-mixed, soil-free potting mixes designed specifically for regular household conditions. My name is Carryn, owner and founder of The Repotting Co. Over the years, I have truly fallen in love with the wonderful world of houseplants. I dedicated 15 years of my life to the Health Care Industry as a Radiographer, but unfortunately, I fell victim to a bucket load of chronic illnesses

that ultimately left me unable to do a job that I genuinely loved. During recent years of being unable to work and discovering my new normal, I fell deeper into the houseplant world and developed a deep fascination for them. After countless hours of internet research, watching planty YouTube videos, chatting with other local growers and implementing my learnings on my own houseplants, I have seen my collection expand and thrive beautifully. Just like repotting plants can be a bit jarring to them initially, I feel like my life has been lifted out of its cozy pot and shaken around a bit. But as with plants, it turns out this shake-up was the best thing that could have happened to me, setting me on a better path and allowing me to continue to grow and thrive. I would love nothing more than to share my passion for plants with you and your collection! Whether it be us repotting together, where I can impart some wisdom that has worked wonders for me, or if you’re a busy individual just wanting the work done efficiently, I’ve got you covered!

👀 Up close & personal with Begonia blooms! I found another stunning example today in my collection of the two different types of Begonia flowers - male & female. 🌸

The male flower typically flowers first and looks like an opening clam-shell with a fuzzy ball of pollen in the centre.

While female flowers are distinguished by the triangular shaped or ‘3-winged’ o***y behind the petals and tend to have a swirly looking centre.

The fancy word for a plant having both male and female flowers is ‘monoecious’, incase you’re a bit nerdy like me! I love how fascinating and clever plants are, they’ve definitely taught me a lot over time.

I’d love to know any cool plant facts that you find interesting! 👇

Stallholder Spotlight: The Repotting Co

Not every plant problem is solved by buying another plant, sometimes the answer is actually in the pot.

That is exactly the kind of thinking behind The Repotting Co.

Carryn is passionate about helping people grow beautiful indoor plants in regular household conditions, and about giving plant lovers the knowledge and confidence to work out what is really going wrong when a plant starts to struggle. Rather than giving up and replacing plants willy-nilly, she is far more interested in getting to the root of the problem, quite literally.

That is where her love of potting mixes comes in. Carryn has become wonderfully obsessed with creating the right soil-free potting mixes for different plant groups, because the right foundation makes all the difference.

At this fair, she’ll be teaming up with Aroids Australia, so while she will not be bringing as many plants herself, she will have her range of soil-free potting mixes, Growth Technology nutrients, moss poles, and some larger moss pole plants.

If you are into indoor plants, want to grow them better, or suspect your mix is letting you down, this is a stall well worth visiting.

My woodworking journey may have started out as a hobby with Woodwork for Women in 2015 but it has become much more than that over the years. And these days it empowers me to create custom pieces to fit seamlessly into my plant world and business! If you've ever wanted to learn, you can't go wrong in the safe hands of Patt!

Before the chop and extend, I had to capture my favourite little moss pole corner in all its glory ✂️🌿

There is something so satisfying about watching these plants climb, mature, and turn into absolute showstoppers.

The chop is always a little nerve wracking, seeing them become short again for a time but the reward is worth it in the end!

Plus it brings me joy to be able to share the bottom halves with someone in Brisbane who wants a head start at a beautiful lush moss pole plant!

Which bottom half would you choose for your collection?
