Federal home battery rebate changes start today

The battery subsidy is now tiered by system size and will reduce faster over time.

Previously, the rebate was based directly on total battery capacity. From today, it tapers after 14kWh to encourage right-sized systems:

0–14kWh: 100% of the rebate rate
14–28kWh: 60% of the rebate rate
28–50kWh: 15% of the rebate rate

☀️☀️"Another one ticked off! ☀️☀️

This wasn't a completely new install however – the customer already had a 6.6kW array with a 5kW inverter on their shed. They weren't happy with the app for monitoring system performance and were still getting a $300 monthly bill.

We tailored the system to remove the old inverter, reuse the 6.6kW array on the new inverter, and add 12.35kW of new solar from the house to the shed. The new inverter and battery are now located in the shed.

Result? 18.96kW of solar and 30kWh of battery storage. This house can now run self-sufficiently, slaying power bills and grid reliance.
