❤️I have a huge love of haberdashery stemming from my mum sewing my clothes. I loved sewing notions as a kid and choosing them for my dresses. I never quite got what I wanted but I always loved what I had.

I’m doing the focusing on stitched collage. I want to explore sewing papers cards and textiles more. I’m definitely not going to post daily as socials give me anxiety most of the time but I do plan to photograph daily and give updates along the way.

Did you know that a flock of Galahs is called a giggle? And that a flock of cockatoos is called a crackle or a chatter?

I’ve had to pause working my way through the creation of a giggle of galahs and a crackle of cockatoos over the Christmas break. Last year I made a few using the Feathers & Sprinkles pattern and these two, Percy & Pearl, hang proudly in my stairwell.
Im about to start hand beading the faces of the next generation. All materials have been rescued from being placed in landfill by being donated to local op shops or organisations such as where I’ve spent hrs trolling through goods to find treasures such as fabric sample books with the richest velvets and corduroys. I’ve also used vintage Ken Done sheet sheets to create feathers. I had this same doona cover growing up and the sentimental memories I have to this print are palpable.

Using pages in my handmade coptic bound notebook I’m just practicing a mediative process and getting used to my new limited pallet for Fodder School this year. I’m using intense watercolours for the first time. So relaxing and fun. I’m also watching Below Deck 😂

I’ve never tried this hidden binding technique before. It’s more work but I think it will be worth it. Look forward to sharing the finished book with you soon.

Yesterday I started to use my master boards I’d created as part of .school 2 lesson with . I scrounge around in my stamp stash and pulled out the words and phrases and stamped out these tags. I’m working diligently through my family history in art journal form and I can’t wait to share them with you. I’ve still got material to sew on to these tags and more embellishments on individual tags as I finish them up. Love using my own scraps to create yummy goodness for journals
