Helping in the local primary school garden this morning and a group of year6 girls spot some slaters...

"Ewwww! Ewww!" from the girls.
"They're not ewww, really." I say, wisely.

"Mmmm, yeah they're aesthetic." says one.

???

Can someone please translate this for a person of....ahem... middle years? Someone who never Tiks any Toks? Or doesnt even Insta the Gram very often?

Question: What's Barbie's favourite flower?

Answer: Pinks!

Haha! Although of course we know them as carnations here in Australia. They're vibrant, easy to grow and come in many shades and patterns, available most months of the year in my Seasonal Mix (message me to order).

Like any edible flower, be cautious: try a small amount at first (petals are usually the edible part) and source them from a grower such as myself who doesn't use chemicals.
Use them as a statement decoration on a plate or glass etc...or pull apart to sprinkle individual petals.

RESPECT to this rose plant in my garden. It's currently battling black spot, an infestation of aphids and the cutest Ringtail Possum that climbs up every night and happily consumes any leaf or flower within reach. And yet it still manages to produce this one perfect bloom!

The Newcastle council backs plans to create flora-covered bus stops, pollination walls, and more garden space to bring bees back to the rapidly transforming CBD.

Pansies are on their waaaaay! Excited about the beautiful colours and patterns starting to appear. Peak season here is approximately mid-late winter until summer heat starts to burn their foliage and flowers. A tricky flower to grow in warm temperate NSW (they prefer cool and sunny conditions and struggle with our heat and humidity. And pests love them as much as we do!)

Totally worth it though πŸ₯°πŸ€©β€πŸŒΌπŸ€žπŸŒ±

When life gives you lemons the size of grapefruits, make....

Lemon cordial
Limoncello
Lemon and lime yoghurt cake with lemon icing
Lemon butter
Lemon in your salad dressing
Lemon on your smashed avo
Lemon in your cocktails
Lemon vinegar natural cleaning product

I can definitely say I have never for one minute regretted planting a lemon tree πŸ˜πŸŒ±πŸ‘
