I've always struggled to get grass to grow in his spot, so at the end of winter 2024 I decided to spray everything out that was there and start from scratch.
It's a naturally shady spot, shaded out by the ancient tea trees.
After some research, I decided to try a creeping fine fescue as it has two properties I was after.
1. Shade tolerance
2. Will spread and fill in by itself
We are now in mid January 2025 and it is thriving.
It's doing exceptionally well for a cool season variety of grass in the hot summer weather.
Just a little extra water required, the correct fertilizers and some bio stimulants to create a healthy soil profile.

I used a seed from and fertilised by

Don't give up on those hard areas to grow grass in, just adjust and maybe compromise on the grass cultivar that you want.
