2026 Dahlia Unicorn Cuttings Sale!!!

To celebrate Winter Solstice this weekend, the first 100 of my Dahlia Unicorn Cuttings are for sale. There will be other, future sale dates in a few weeks' time, but, if you want to secure yours now and you have a warm, sunny spot in your patch, these first 100 are ready to roll ...

$30 each, this Saturday 20th June and Sunday 21st June 2026. Please PM me for the address in Alderley QLD 4051.

Fortunately for us Brisbane locals, the weather is warm, and with the now lengthening sunny days, these 140mm hardened off potted dahlias will get you off to a great headstart this season.

This first sale is a week earlier than last year, but the weather is so lovely that Leela had a fantastic time swimming in the creek today.

Flouncy whites! The dahlia equivalent to a princess-cut wedding dress; voluminous, dramatic flare, with long flowing panels... I mean petals!

In my collection is Florelie Whipped Cream, Guyra white (which can sometimes have a tiny bit of pink, as shown in photos), AC Casper, Kotara buttermilk, and Goddess.
I also have some beautiful snow-like ground cover, as well as windflowers, fringed tulips, sombreil rose, and hydrangeas to add to the collection. Look at the end of the post for an early 2023 photo of the hydrangeas before we had begun construction on the kitchen!

I felt I should also capture the Queen Anne's lace which is a w**d and grows like crazy around Ebor - but adds a nice touch to a bouquet!

Finally, I thought the Ebor Falls white-water after rain would suit the colour scheme 😉🤍

Pristine tidy white's, or as Caitlin wants to title these; Tighty Whities.

I adore white, the colour not only naturally goes with literally everything, but also enhances everything! White is beautiful, bridal, textural, and with its clean colour places emphasis on form.

Little Angel is a great addition to every bouquet, the small tight ball accentuates the big colourful decoratives I like to pair it with!

Formby Queen, new to me last season, is on my cutting table this year and she's a real Queen - sensational and worth adding to your patch!

Follow along for my next Formby Perfection post to see if the 8 cuttings from these 4 mother plants make it successfully to the next stage. 4 tip cuttings and 4 leaf cuttings were taken yesterday, 6/6/2026. These 4 "mother" plants have grown from cuttings taken from my patch on 30th March 2026. They needed pinching to encourage lateral growth, so the pinching material will make 2nd generation cuttings, hopefully soon to be third and so on...

4 becomes 8 becomes 18 becomes 38. The numbers always change depending on the available material, insect load, and overall success rate but you get the gist!

Love love love the vibrancy of these dahlias 😍

Lileah Mailman is an all time favorite with its flouncy petals. Coorabell Caitlyn is new to me this season and such a stunner, my daughter Caitlin loves this one, and not just for its name.

I also have this cute seedling that's a vibrant pink but keeps popping up random white petals in the mix, its very sweet, so it can stay.

Finally, the peonies try to add to the pink craze, but for this colour theme, the Dahlias definitely have it in the bag.
