As you may have heard, the Loco Shed Echuca has been undergoing exciting redevelopment works to transform the heritage-listed site into a large, multi-use community facility.

To date, works have been proudly supported by the Victorian Government's Living Heritage Program, the Enabling Tourism Fund, and generous fundraising efforts by our Committee and supporters. However, additional funding will be required to fully realise the vision for this important local landmark.

We invite you to come down this Saturday, June 7th from 12:30pm to 2:30pm for a special community open day. Come down, explore the space, view the progress, and hear from the Loco Shed Committee about the journey so far—and what’s still to come.

We are proud to share that the CFA Irymple Fire Station has officially completed its new works! The existing facility has made way for a modern, fit-for-purpose station, featuring at least three drive-through vehicle bays on Koorlong Avenue.

This upgrade ensures that the station meets the evolving needs of the local firefighting community, providing a state-of-the-art space for CFA volunteers to continue their essential work in protecting the region.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this project to life! 👏🔥

An exciting development currently on site in Shepparton.

An inner-city residence with an energy rating of over 9.5 stars, that is actually constructed out of cool room panels which are then clad over to present a modern ascetic.

A residence built to passive house standards is designed to be extremely energy efficient, aiming to reduce energy use for heating and cooling to a minimum. Passive house is a rigorous, performance based standard developed in Germany, and it focuses on creating buildings that are comfortable, sustainable and energy efficient without relying on active heating or cooling systems.

The project also incorporates a high level of other energy saving principles including:
- correct orientation
- heat recovery system
- sealed envelope
- European tilt and turn windows
- Hydronic in slab heat system

The overall project is to strict passive house principles showing what can be achieved within a suburban setting. The results obtained are being eagerly awaited for the next generation of building solutions for the harsh climatic conditions of Northern Victoria.

By incorporating these features, passive house homes can reduce energy consumption by up to 90% compared to a standard building, resulting in lower heating and cooling costs and more comfortable living environment.

Today, we delve into the mesmerising world of Yayoi Kusama, one of the most influential contemporary artists of our time. Known for her immersive installations, polka-dot motifs, and avant-garde approach to art. Her work transcends traditional artistic boundaries, blending painting, sculpture, installation, and performance into a singular, unforgettable experience.

A crucial aspect of Kusama’s work is its deep connection to her mental health. She has openly spoken about living with hallucinations and anxiety, using art as a therapeutic outlet. Her work transforms her struggles into powerful, universally resonant artistic expressions.

Whether through her sculptures, paintings, or installations, Kusama invites us into her world—a world where infinity is within reach, and art becomes a powerful bridge between the mind and the universe.

Would you step into one of Kusama’s infinity rooms?
