This Murraya hedge was cut back hard to bring it back under control — and now the dormant buds are firing up all through the old timber. Exactly what you want to see after a proper reduction trim.

A lot of people panic when a hedge looks bare after a heavy cut, but with the right timing and technique, Murraya bounces back strong with dense new growth from deep inside the plant.

🪵 Firewood Processing 🪵

🔥 Still earning its keep. 👑

Bought this Stihl MS660 when I was 18 (14 years ago) and it’s been a weapon ever since. Countless tanks of fuel, mountains of sawdust, and more firewood than I could ever count — but it still pulls hard every time.

There’s something satisfying about turning big wood into neat stacks of firewood with a saw you’ve trusted for years. No fancy electronics, no nonsense… just raw two-stroke power and hard work. 🪵🪚

But today hit a little different. Standing behind this saw cutting firewood I caught myself thinking about Dad teaching me how to cut wood properly when I was younger. A few years ago my dad passed away and the only I wanted was his trusty old chainsaw so I can teach my sons with it 🫡

Nice try mate… but until it can edge properly, stripe lawns, trim hedges, and survive a North West Victoria summer, I think my job’s safe for now.
