End Of Chapter One ⌓⌇◡◦
It is with sadness, love and excitement that I bid farewell to our greenhouse store! It has been a pleasure helping you with all your planty needs for the last 5 years - words can’t express how much your support and company has meant to me. This shop changed my life! BUT! Don’t stop reading!! This is NOT the end. It is with GREAT happiness I announce that as of THIS WEEKEND my wonderful colleague, friend and favourite plant buddy Han will be taking over our Fitzroy store!! Those of you who have visited our store in the last couple of years will find Han’s smiling face and knowledgeable brain very familiar and I’ll be posting a little more about what she has planned for you all very soon! In the meantime pop over and follow where you’ll be privy to all the updates on HER little Fitzroy greenhouse store including what she’ll have for you this weekend!! Our Last Day ⌓⌇◡◦
We can’t believe this is our very last day trading as Plant by Packwood from our little greenhouse store! The last few years have been a wonderful, crazy journey - and we feel so incredibly lucky to have shared it with you all. This past week we’ve felt so much support from our Plant community, and it’s been an absolute joy to chat to you all as you’ve come in to say goodbye. This store has had such a huge and beautiful impact on our lives, and we’re ready to give it our all on this last day of trading. Please come in and say hello (and goodbye). We are full to the BRIM of plants - both rare and old faves - and terrariums. If you have some Christmas shopping to do, some self care plants to grab, or you just want to come in for one last nerdy plant chat - we would love to see you, as always. A week and a half left until Christmas, and we’ve got all your pressie needs (for yourself or for others) sorted! In fact, our little greenhouse store is quite literally overflowing with plants - it’s a beautiful sight. ALL our display plants, a whole bunch of beauties from Bayden’s personal collection are for sale as well as a handful of uncommon aroids (Philodendron ‘Painted Lady’, P. Melanochrysum and so, so much more - keep an eye out on our stories in a few hours for all the deets! We’re open all weekend 10 - 5 all weekend (added an extra hour for those who might be able to make it earlier) and we’re looking forward to seeing you all before bid our beautiful PLANT by Packwood community farewell on Sunday 🌿✨⌇◯⌢◦

Well would you look at that! It’s Friday, and our lovely little greenhouse store is open sesame! Filled to the brim, we’ve ensured it is stocked to bursting with all our favourites ahead of this, our last week in the shop as owners. It’s been a huge, beautiful rollercoaster of a ride, Melbourne - come and say goodbye with us! Open 10 - 6 today, and 10 - 4 all weekend! 😭🌿✨⌇◯⌢◦

Very happy to share that in these last few days of PLANT, the store has never looked or been stocked better. We’re open until 6 today (Thursday), 10 - 6 tomorrow and all weekend from 10 - 4 as normal - then the new owner takes over!! Come and grab yourself something uncommon, something HUGE to fill that empty corner or something for your KK - we’ve got it all. Our final terrarium class sold out quicker than lamingtons at a CWA bake sale, so we’ve added one final date! Next Friday the 20th of December at 6pm is your LAST chance to come along and learn how whip up a self-sustaining masterpiece - book now to guarantee your spot! Speaking of final days, this week and this weekend (Thursday - Sunday) are my final days in the store as owner. I’ve got a bunch of orders, repairs and goodies to get through and then I’m off - so come say bye if you’re around! Also worth mentioning that I’m bringing a whooooole bunch (but it’s never enough, I know) of my own collection of harder-to-find plants - come grab an uncommon treat before they’re gone for good. Melbourne Masterclass ⌓⌇◡◦
Our terrarium classes have been an absolute joy to teach over the last 5 years. So it is with some sadness that we announce our FINAL Melbourne terrarium workshop is coming up on Thursday Dec 19th! Hosted by yours truly, I’ll be teaching you how to build your very own terrarium from the literal ground up, providing you with all the substrates, plants and know-how you’ll need to create your very own self-sufficient dreamy landscape. Simply head over to our website to book your spot, pre-purchase one of our terrarium vessels to add to your class (or bring your own) and I’ll see you there! Foliage Farewell ⌓⌇◡◦
The hardest part of moving away? Having to part with my much loved personal plant collection, including my beloved Aglaonema pictum-tricolour - I’ll miss this plant so much! What’s one plant you could never part with? We’ll be re-stocking the shop this week with some incredible stuff - and of course our signature range of terrariums. It is with bitter-sweet feelings that I announce we will be closing our Fitzroy store as of 2020. As many of you know, my wife has been pursuing a career in Los Angeles for the past few years. After some amazing success this year - and a lot of difficult long distance relationship-ing - we have finally decided to make the move to Hollywood! I have some very exciting things planned for PLANT in 2020 that I can’t wait to share, but after a year of thinking on it I have decided to close the physical store. The shop has been one of my life’s great achievements. Looking back on the past few years, the adventures I’ve had, the great people I've met, I feel so incredibly lucky. Our little plant community has grown immensely, and I am humbled to have been a small part of what we’ve all built together! To that end, it’s important to me that the space continue to be used in service of Melbourne makers and small business. This is why when I decided to sell the space, I wanted to put the word out to the PLANT community. Those of you who have visited the store know what a magical little shop it is - and I’d like whoever fills it to keep the spirit of the space alive! We designed it to be the perfect structure to house a nursery, and I’d love for that to continue. Having said that: the modular nature of the store, and the location within Rose Street Market means it could be perfect for all kinds of things! If you, or someone you know, would like to talk about purchasing the space I’d love for you to get in touch. There’s lots of nitty gritty to get into - but I’m really hoping to find someone who‘ll be able to grow their business the way I‘ve been able to grow mine. To those who have been a part of the PLANT by Packwood journey over the past 6 years - THANK YOU. You may never know how much your kind words, patronage, and encouragement have meant - but let this serve as a little reminder (especially at Xmas) that supporting small business doesn’t just keep our local economy strong.
