TM7 vs TM6 – My Thoughts After Using Both

With Trade Up now available until 28 June, I thought it was the perfect time to share my thoughts on the differences between the TM7 and TM6. I get asked about this almost daily so I’ve put all my thoughts into one post for anyone considering an upgrade or a new purchase 😊

Trade Up is available until 28 June for TM6, TM5 and 31 owners

TRADE UP
TM31 $250 off a new TM7
TM5 $450 off the TM7
TM7 $750 off the TM7
رة
OR
Trade in an electrical appliance which does the job of one of TM7 modes and get $150 off.

TM6 and TM7 bowls have the same 2.2L capacity and the blades are IDENTICAL in both models making them interchangeable. However — you can’t use a TM6 bowl on the TM7, and vice versa.

The TM7 bowl has a new insulated casing, so the outside stays cool to touch while cooking. It also helps retain both hot and cold temperature. That extra insulation does make the TM7 bowl a bit heavier than the TM6.

The TM7 has a new lever-style blade locking mechanism, making it quicker and easier to secure or remove the blade.

The new design TM7 lid has a lid cap instead of a measuring cup that sits on top and no big hole in the lid. The cap is removable and stops food splatter while letting the steam escape. There is no need for a splash guard with the new design lid.

the new TM7 has a built in glider in the base. This also makes it sleek and minimal on the kitchen bench.

The TM7 motor is silent at speeds below speed 2. When you use anything above speed 2, you will of course still hear it but it is definitely quieter than the TM6.

When using the new Open Cooking mode, or when using speeds up to speed 2, the lid and bowl don’t lock in. This new mode allows you to cook without the lid on and allows for manual stirring and checking of ingredients inside the bowl as the lid can be lifted off. Once you go above speed 2, the lid and bowl lock in securely.

Another new feature is the machine allows you to tick the ingredients off as you add them to the bowl or automatically ticks off the ingredients for you

The 10 inch touch screen is my favourite part of the TM7. There is no k**b on the TM7, it is all a touch screen.

The big colour screen also features amazing graphics with instructions which I love!

You don’t need a perfect kitchen.

You don’t need to cook every meal from scratch.

You don’t need to spend hours meal prepping.

What you need is:

✔ A Thermomix
✔ Consistency

Because consistency doesn’t look like perfection.

It looks like:

🥤 A smoothie instead of skipping breakfast
🥚 Boiled eggs ready in the fridge
🥗 A quick homemade salad
🍲 soup for lunch
🍞 Fresh bread for the family
🥣 Overnight oats ready for tomorrow
🍝 A homemade family dinner

Small actions, repeated often. over time those small actions become:

- More homemade food
- More real ingredients
- Less ultra-processed food
- Less food waste
- Huge savings every week

The most powerful Thermomix function isn’t chopping, kneading or blending. It’s helping you show up in your kitchen consistently.

Small changes, huge impact.

What’s one thing you make regularly in your Thermomix that has become a habit, let me know. Mine would be yoghurt, staples, bread, smoothies and soup

With this cold weather I’m always looking on for warm, nourishing recipes. You can’t go past this cracker of a dish. I usually steam extra Veges in the Varoma to go with it.

This dish is on Cookidoo for guided cooking and it is on the Everyday Cooking for Thermomix® families.

Let me know what you think of it.
