Melissa North Melissa North Melissa has developed a strong interest for landscape painting, with an emphasis on the Pilbara.

Her interest stems from her rural upbringing in Kalgoorlie and the Pilbara. The intensity of rich colours and movement within the landscape is the basis for Melissa’s inspiration. “Flights from the Pilbara to Perth have driven her to capture the movement of line within the landscape,… the creekbeds, the salt pans, the Iron-ore industry- the immediate environment we live in”.

🔥Bay of Fires 🔥 Part 2
🔥In 1773 Captain Tobias Furneaux, (whilst exploring the NE Coast of TAS-along Mt William National Park), saw many fires from Aboriginal people, naming it ‘The Bay of Fires’..
🐚We saw many ‘Middens’ throughout the walk which included discarded mounds of shells, apparently there’s up to 90 Middens in the park.
🐧Sad to see the Hooded Plovers are endangered as they lay their eggs on the beach! Dogs eat the eggs and dog restrictions are in place.

🌳Day 1-Stumpys-Deep Creek. 12km.
💕Day 2-Deep Creek to Policeman’s Point. 17km
🌸Day 3-Policeman’s Point to The Gardens-16km
🚗Picked up and camped at Cosy Corner.
🌊Invigorating swim! Mild weather 12-19 degrees
🐬Saw surfing dolphins, an echidna hiding, suprised a Wombat strolling on the beach, rabbits, herons, Red Hooded Plovers, Yellow flecked black cockatoos, Pacific Gulls, Sea Eagle nesting, pademelons, wallaby’s.

Inspired by native beauties from my Perth Hills bush property — Geraldton Wax, Kangaroo Paw, and the WA Peppermint Tree — these works celebrate the vibrant life and harmony of our local landscape.
