It’s been a minute since we’ve posted and while we have been busy, it’s been on long jobs with nothing much to show until the end. We’ve also been renovating another house, this will be our 3rd house Reno and this one involves a 150sqm concrete slab, building a verandah a patio and building in under the house to make it all livable. We’ve had some fun so far and will be posting them and more regularly very soon.
Thank you for your support.

Today we had the pleasure of completing and creating yet another spectacular back yard oasis.
The brief was to finish it wonderfully and complete this beautiful space…. Which I think we nailed.

Many a lovely day and night to come outside enjoying this gorgeous back yard.

Today’s job was a bit of fun because not only was it gorgeous little yard space set amongst beautiful gardens with broken sun, a slight breeze and absolutely oozing tranquility but because we got to change the profile of the yard, mound the earth to create rain off into the plethora of garden edging onto the grass and also to soften and create nice transition areas between concrete pathways and lawn, and finally because we got to lay a beautiful buffalo (broad leaf) shade tolerant hearty turf.
All of this totally transformed the whole back yard and made it so inviting.
It was lovely to be able to make the ground and grass finally match the gardens.

A relatively simple little add on to an existing synthetic turf area at a local recreational centre on the coast.
It’s not often easy to join new turf to old worn and weathered, dirty and sanded existing turf but we got this one done pretty well. We used all of the dug out dirt to help reshape the edges and chamfer it so the grass regrowth butts right upto the syn turf for a smooth transition.

So while everyone else golfed we worked.
It was hot, it was windy and it was horrible watching everyone enjoy themselves golfing….. second only to working besides swimming pools that we can’t jump into 😝
But we got it done, all nice and finished for the big grand opening of new sections this weekend.

How wonderful to be hitting a few golf balls down the driving range on a Monday morning.
There’s nothing like the snap of the clubs driving it down the range.
So relaxing…. But not for us, oh no we’re at the wrong end of this because it’s just another days work for us today… we’re just tormented by the sound of golf swings and beer swigs.

It’s a washed out rainy day for us here at Sarnellis landscaping (and infact probably any outdoor workers in Brisbane and the Gold Coast to be honest) so I thought I’d share today a job we did a couple of weeks back where we did run off drainage around the pool for excess, seamless glass pool fencing, stepping pavers using the same tiles as the pool surround and river rock the whole rest of the yard and re covered down the side of the house to clean up after the pool builders machines.
Beautiful finish to complete the new pool build but by god are those new hardened or toughened porcelain tiles a mission to drill through. We went through 12 or 13 porcelain diamond tip drill bits to do the job.

Wow what a day!!
Beautifully set under the burning hot sun we built a garden box today… it wasn’t just a raised garden bed it was a 3x1.5m garden box. 3 tonnes of organic garden soil and it’s ready to go. The customer will transplant the plastic garden boxes worth of herbs into it.
Sienna sleepers, composite uprights and some lovely top caps completed the look.
Happy gardening my friends

A little woopsie with a trailer (thankfully no one was hurt) saw us having to head to one of our neighbouring properties to repair a couple of sections of fence today.
Finding a 75mm arrow head pitched pailing was a mission but we found a supplier who cut them for us.
The arrow head is slightly off to the origional fence but unless we tried hand cutting (which we no doubt could’ve) and made a jig or something to suit then it is a close enough match.
We will give it a couple of weeks for the Timbers to dry out a little and then paint the treated fence white to finish the job. It’s fixed and safe now and looking a treat already. 👌

And that’s a wrap for us today from Sarnellis.
Second job for the day is another natural turf not far down the road in surfers paradise.
Some beautiful fresh thick and lush turf to really dress up the front of this lovely house. Laid, cut in, rollered and watered in with a little clean up of the excess dirt and it’s a wrap.
A couple of weeks of watering it twice a day besides all of the days that sunny qld rains lol and then drop it back to once a day after about 4 weeks and reduce it to probably 3 times a week around Christmas and this turf will thrive.
