Not sure what to plant this month? We’ve broken it down by climate zone so you can sow with confidence.

Tropical
Time for heat-lovers and fast growers like beans, cucumbers, eggplant, pumpkin, sweet corn and tomato. Keep succession planting leafy greens for a steady harvest.

Sub-tropical
A great month for beetroot, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, parsley, spinach and more. Cool-season crops will thrive as temperatures settle.

Arid
Perfect timing for artichoke, cauliflower, kale, leeks, onions, parsnip, potato and radish. Focus on soil prep and consistent watering for strong root development.

Warm temperate
Sow beans, peas, rocket, silverbeet, spinach, swede and turnip. Leafy greens and brassicas will perform beautifully now.

Cold temperate
Lean into artichoke, asparagus, bok choy, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, peas, radish and spinach. Cool conditions mean sweeter leaves and slower, stronger growth.

Cooler days are settling in, so shift your focus to leafy greens, brassicas and slow-growing roots. Here’s what to prioritise in your zone.

Tropical
Keep warm-season crops powering along while introducing broccoli, cabbage and beetroot. Succession sow quick growers like radish and lettuce.

Sub-tropical
Focus on strong leaf and root development with broccoli, cabbage, carrot, garlic, kale, peas and silverbeet.

Arid
Build soil health and steady growth with beetroot, carrot, celery, onion, parsley, rocket and spinach. Consistent watering is key.
