I’m constantly inspired by nature, especially when it comes to colours.
Can you see how I’ve picked colours from the first image to create the mood board in the second image? Achieving the right balance and tone is key ofcourse. And picking the right colours, for the right space!

What is a Planning Permit?
A planning permit is a legal document that allows a certain use and / or development on a land.

It normally contains a written document with conditions that must be met and a set of plans from your architect.

Most applications for a planning permit will be made to the local council.

Why do I need a Planning Permit?
A planning permit ensures your proposed work complies with government planning guidelines. It assesses the impact work may have on:
- the site,
-neighbouring lands,
- the environment.

Do I Need a Planning Permit For My Project?
You do not always require a planning permit and this depends on the type and scale of your project.

For example, most of the time you need a planning permit if you are:

-Subdividing your land,
-Building or extending a dwelling,
-Making significant changes to the appearance of your property.

Your architect can let you know if the scale and scope of your project would require a planning permit based on the council’s planning scheme.

If you are unsure about whether your project requires one, don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’re here to help guide you through the process and ensure your project meets all necessary requirements.

Colour Psychology: RED

In nature, the colours yellow, orange, and red can signal danger, and adding black to these colours can create an even stronger danger signal. Red is often associated with positive personality traits such as decisiveness, boldness, and assertiveness. However, the colour red can also trigger a physical response, making people feel like time is passing faster, and activating the fight-or-flight response in response to a perceived threat or attack. Additionally, red is often used in marketing and advertising to grab attention and create a sense of urgency or excitement.

In architecture, the colour red can be used to create a sense of excitement and energy specially when it is mixed with yellow and orange. It can also be used to give the impression that time is passing faster! Red can also be used as an accent colour to draw attention or to designate areas of caution or importance. In some cultures, red is also associated with prosperity and wealth, making it a popular choice in design to convey opulence or luxury. Overall, the use of the colour red in architectural design can have a significant impact on the mood and functionality of a space, creating a dynamic and engaging environment that encourages interaction and inspires creativity.
