FREE GREEN AND HARD WASTE COLLECTION – COMMENCING 27 OCTOBER 2025 🚲🌿🌂

Council's free green and hard waste collections are conducted in April and October each year. The upcoming collection will commence the week beginning Monday 27 October 2025 onwards.

How to get your green and hard waste collected:

✅Waste must be placed on the nature strip the night before collection is due
✅Items must be able to be lifted by two men
✅All hard waste items exceed two metres in length
✅All items such as tree branches and cuttings must be tied in 20kg or less bundles and a maximum of 1.5m in length and 20cm in diameter
✅Loose materials must be bagged
✅Keep hard waste and green waste separate
✅Total volume of items must not exceed 2m3

🚫 PLEASE NOTE that vehicle tyres, fridges, freezers and mattresses are NOT accepted as part of these collections. Items such as rubble, soil, rocks and concrete will not be collected.

What: Get rid of rubbish, recycling, e-waste, batteries, tyres, paint, metal mattresses, white goods and more!

This event is for Brighton Municipality residents only.

Centacare Evolve Housing and Brighton Council are partnering to deliver this event to provide education around recycling and to reduce waste in community.
