‼️As some of you may know this time of year is where you would find the common “black beetles” in your lawn.
🪲 Common Lawn Beetles in WA & Australia
1. African Black Beetle (Heteronychus arator)
2. Argentine Scarab / Scarab Beetle
3. Billbug (Weevil)

🔎 Here are some signs of Lawn Beetle Damage
• Brown, dead, or thinning patches of grass.
• Lawn feels spongy or lifts up easily.
• Beetles flying around lights at night.

🛠️ Control & Management
1. Check for beetles/grubs
2. Cultural controls
• Keep lawn healthy, stronger the better.
3. Biological options
• They encourage birds and natural predators.
4. Chemical controls
• Lawn insecticides (granular or liquid)
• Best applied in spring–summer
• Always water in granules.
