There are some incredible sites out there that n

eed our help and activities include creek restoration, bushland regeneration, and open space revegetation. Each Landcare project is topped off with a social event whether it be a game of beach cricket and a swim in warmer months, a BBQ, or a meal and a game of pool at the local. Our overnight projects often involve camping along the banks of a river, visits to swimming holes, cave tours, bushwalks and more!

Looking for something to do this Saturday morning? 👀 We have the answer to that!

🌿 Enoggera Creek community planting day - Saturday 23 May 8:00am-11:00am at the bottom of Picot Street Park, Kelvin Grove 🌿

Plant some plants 🌱 and grab yourself a FREE sausage sizzle 🌭 and a FREE can of drink 🥤- it’s going to be a banger of a morning! 🤩

Gluten free & vegan options will be available.

🎒 Bring a water bottle, enclosed shoes, sun-safe clothing, hat, sunscreen. And gloves and tools if you have them (will also be provided).

🚗 Best parking is at the end of Picot St, or on Camona St and Rees St.

🌿 Enoggera Creek community planting day - Saturday 23 May 8:00am-11:00am at the bottom of Picot Street Park, Kelvin Grove 🌿

Join Brisbane Intrepid Landcare for a day out planting and enjoy a free sausage sizzle & soft drink on us. Everyone is welcome to join 😊 No RSVP needed, just show up!

🎤🎶Ooooh we’re (almost) halfway there… WHOOA we’ve planted lots of plants!

We’ve planted around 1500 of our pledged 4000 plants and we’re powering ahead! This weekend we’ll be doing some maintenance: hand weeding, watering, and planting around 200 more plants. If you’re keen for a slow paced morning, touching some grass, and hanging out with a bunch of lovely people, come along! Everyone’s welcome.

What do you get when you combine 12 superstar volunteers, a heap of native plants, plenty of mulch and a patch of empty green space?
The answer: an impressive planting effort of course! 💁‍♀️

On 14 March, in just 4 hours, our volunteers planted a whopping 620 native plants for our second community planting event at Enoggera Creek! 🌱⭐️

The morning consisted of digging holes, planting, spreading mulch and of course, plenty of socialising and laughs 🪏

Several plants from our February planting fell victim to some cheeky bush turkeys 😔
But this time we saw a massive improvement to the plant survival rate by firmly tamping in the soil during the planting.
Take that bush turkeys! 👊

Next Saturday the Brisbane Intrepid Landcare crew will be at Enoggera Creek in Kelvin Grove hosting our first community planting for the project! 🥳 All are welcome to come and lend a hand at this family friendly event.

We're digging in and getting our hands dirty down at our Enoggera Creek project site in February! We'll be joining forces with the local Habitat Brisbane group to start clearing out weeds and debris, giving the area a freshen up in preparation for planting in March! 🌱

What an absolute ripper! 🤩 Last Saturday we headed out to Enoggera Creek to break ground on our new project. With all the good energy going around, we're lucky we didn't cause an earthquake!

We met up with our neighbouring Habitat Brisbane group who generously shared the history of the site, along with some lessons they've learned over the years bushcare-ing in the area. From there, plenty of plants were ID'd, and we cracked into some serious research, coming up with a whopping 🌟50🌟 different plant species to be planted onto the site!

Wondering what's next? So glad you asked! Next month we're joining forces with Habitat Brisbane again, this time to clear a weedy section of the site in preparation for planting.

It's official, we're breaking ground on our Enoggera Creek Project! 🎉

Join us down by the creek to check out what's in the area and put together a planting list for 4000 new plants. We'll have books and resources available to help us through the planning sesh!
