ST MARY’S CHURCH, HOBART ⛪️
Heritage Plaster Restoration
Swipe through to see the transformation.
This project involved the careful restoration of damaged internal plasterwork within the historic St Mary’s Church in Hobart. Years of movement and deterioration had left extensive cracking throughout the original plaster surfaces.
Our process included:
• Removal of failed and unstable plaster
• Exposure and assessment of the original sandstone masonry
• Traditional backing coats applied to suit the heritage structure
• Reinstatement using breathable lime-based materials
• Careful finishing to maintain the character and integrity of the church interior
Working within a heritage-listed building requires patience, traditional skills, and respect for the original craftsmanship. It was a privilege to help preserve this remarkable piece of Tasmania’s architectural history.
