When life gives you Agaves 🌱

My client was gifted these Agaves by a friend but didn’t have the time to plant them. Someone had been using the garden bed as a dumping ground, so the rubbish was cleared out and replaced with organic garden soil and Cypress mulch.

There mite be a problem here 🤔

This Angel’s trumpet (Brugmansia sp.) is heavily infested with red spider mites 🕷 These tiny spiders are so small that they feed on single leaf cells, leaving mottled or spotty light coloured damage and inhibiting the plant’s capacity for photosynthesis. Spider mites can be treated with chemicals, organic insecticides or through the introduction of predatory mites.

Monstera makeover!

This big Monstera had a lot of issues - fungal and bacterial problems and an infestation of mealy bugs 😓

Removal of all affected leaves followed by a fungicidal and insecticidal treatment and an application of slow release fertiliser will have it back and lusher than ever 😍
