Are you spring-ready? In 2005, Lightly began with resin. Our first collection was a series of hand-slumped vessels, each shaped by heat and patience, left to find its own form.

Twenty years on, we return to the material that started it all. The new collection is cast in acrylic resin and finished in high gloss. It carries forward a long interest in modernism, colour and the quiet of everyday objects. Many of the objects we have made in wood, steel or brass.

Not a new direction; some materials stay with you.

Lightly Summer Salon. Encore 🎪
This summer, we return to Collingwood Yards for an encore.
In the lead-up to Christmas, Lightly takes up residence at the Yards with limited editions, one-offs, samples, vessels, sculptural pieces, rugs and more. A limited edition assembled for a single summer, then gone.

Plinths and Socles. The originals.

Since 2001. Fresh out of RMIT, I started Props Design, making plinths and lights for Melbourne’s theatres, dance scenes and café interiors. Used as seats, stages, and places to make scenes. Simple forms, theatrical and utilitarian.

As versatile as it is striking. Table, prop or sculpture. A visual expression of pure beauty and its raw components: order, simplicity, harmony.
Made by hand, in editions of five.

Lightly made, thoughtfully lived.

For Lightly founder Cindy Lee, drawing faces is a “love language”. A new meaning emerged from watching her son do the same: a kinship revealed in his initial marks on paper, showing how he perceives the world of human form. Until he was four or five 5years old, all his faces had only one beautiful eye, the Ajna eye, that allows us to see and understand the inner and outer worlds. This is the shape and circle represented on the arc Stool and plinth.
