Things have changed - or have they?

Cleaning out archive boxes today and I found this little gem. It’s an alterations and additions project in Brighton, VIC, designed in 1997. Yes, that’s correct, 1997.

Designed by yours truly as a private job (a “PJ”).

It was a tight little terrace with side garden. It needed some TLC, a garage (for car and a Harley Davidson) and a wicked new upper floor bachelor pad. It was a delight to design.

Getting through Planning Approval back in ‘97 was a breeze. And construction regs were a lot easier to navigate then too. Ahhhh, the good old days!

COLLA Studio’s “Black White Timber House” sold on the weekend. What a winner.

So many people viewed it.
So many people loved it and appreciated how this little beauty packs a ‘design’ punch.

It’s a deceptively generous ‘TARDIS’ for a small inner city site. The rooms are generous. The outlook and views amazing. The natural light in all rooms - astounding. And it’s deceptively quiet and calm inside.

We love this beauty.
And we’re happy that the home’s new owner loves it already too.
