🚗💨 Day 8 – Home Valley to Darwin: They Made It! 🎉
That’s a wrap on the 2025 Winter Sh*tbox Rally! After 8 unforgettable days, countless dusty tracks, a few mechanical miracles, and a lot of laughs — the team has officially crossed the finish line in Darwin… and in true Craig style (with some very enthusiastic encouragement from Buddy Group 21), they did it in reverse! 🌀😂

Day 7 – Home Valley to Victoria River Roadhouse
439km | 12km unsealed | 1 very wet engine 😅

Yesterday’s drive was smoother with just a short 12km stretch of unsealed road—until they hit the legendary Pentecost River crossing. After cheering on a few Sh*tboxes that cruised through (and a few that definitely didn’t), it was finally their turn.

They started strong, spirits high… but about 3/4 of the way across, the engine decided it preferred water to air. Cue a slow, soggy stop in the middle of the river. After a solid laugh and a quick rescue from the Support crew (legends!), they were back on the road.

Rolled into camp at 8:20pm after crossing into the Northern Territory. Can’t believe the finish line in Darwin is TODAY! What a ride it’s been! 🚗💨🌅

Day 6: Derby to Home Valley 🚗
What. A. Day. The infamous Gibb River Road absolutely delivered — and then some! They tackled countless river crossings and endured hundreds of kilometres of relentless corrugations. It was tough, bumpy, and totally unforgettable.
The highlight? A refreshing dip at Galvans Gorge. Surrounded by stunning rock formations and a beautiful waterfall, their crew took a well-earned break to swim, chill, and jump off the rocks. Pure magic. 🌿💦
After a solid 14-hour day behind the wheel, they finally rolled into camp — tired, dusty, and starving. So what did they do? Fired up a fellow buddies pizza oven and made homemade pizzas under the stars. Couldn’t have asked for a better way to wrap up such an epic stretch.
The adventure continues — next stop: more red dirt, laughs, and memories! 💛

Day 5
Today is one of the most meaningful days on the rally – “In Honour Day.”

It’s a day where we pause and reflect on why we’re really here. Every one of us has been touched by cancer – whether through a friend, a loved one, or a personal journey.

Today, we honour little Nicholas. 💛

Just six weeks ago, Nicholas was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia (ALL). Since then, his world – and his family’s – has turned upside down. He and his incredibly brave mum, Tayla, have had to relocate to Sydney for what could be up to two years of treatment. They’ve already spent most of that time in hospital, including the past two weeks, battling through fevers and the daily toll of chemotherapy.

His dad, Alex, and big brother Harrison travel back and forth to be with them whenever they can, trying to keep life as normal as possible for little Harry, while supporting Nicholas through his fight.

Alex has been our trusted electrician for the business for over 15 years – a hardworking, kind-hearted guy who would do anything for others. Now it’s our turn to support his family through this incredibly tough time.

Nicholas is only just beginning this long road, and this beautiful family could use all the support they can get.

Day 5 – Pardoo Roadhouse to Derby�673km of sealed roads yesterday meant... no flat tyres, no breakdowns – a rare treat! We made a stop at the stunning 80 Mile Beach, soaking in the views, before swinging through Broome for a quick pit stop and some much needed new tyres.
One of our awesome buddy group teams managed to line up a new car after theirs died back on Day 1. Absolute legends for pushing on and staying in the rally spirit!
Next up: the legendary Gibb River Road. That’s where things are bound to get interesting! Stay tuned…..🚗💨

Day 4 – Auski Roadhouse to Pardoo Roadhouse
Yesterday, “Bare as you dare” brought out some seriously questionable fashion choices — and Craig and Rach loved every second of it! Craig fully leaned into his alter ego, and the rest of the buddy groups followed suit with some wild and wonderful costumes.
They tackled a decent one yesterday: 181 km of sealed roads and 333 km of unsealed tracks.
Highlights included a stop at Chinaman’s Pool, followed by a quick detour to Marble Bar where an Emu Export at the local pub hit just right. 🍺
Just one tyre re-plug for the day, and in a Sh*tbox miracle, Buddy Group 21 rolled into camp before dark….a rare and very exciting moment!
Let’s see what Day 5 brings!
