I loved making this cake, it’s still early on in my wafer paper experimenting days... so this cake literally took me all night just to decorate and work out how to “place” the pieces. But I’m sure with more practice I’ll get quicker! So lucky to have clients who trust me to try new ideas and love my suggestions! Oh and the best bit was the warm welcome, massive smiles and hugs I got on delivery 🥰🥰

I’m getting excited by the number of wedding cake enquiries I’ve been receiving for smaller wedding cakes. I definitely think I’ll be making some micro wedding cakes over the next year as people opt for a more intimate affair. ✨✨✨ so excited, wether it’s big or small I love all the wedding cakes! 🥰👰🏼💍

Whilst this one wasn’t for a micro wedding, the bride loved this minimalist look and I also provided a kitchen cake so that there was enough cake for all the guests. 🍰

Every now and then there’s a cake that you will never forget, a cake that is more then just a cake.

For me the memory of this cake is friendship & planet cake.

A college recalled the reference picture I had been given as a Planet Cake design, I actually worked there at the time and asked Paris if it was ok to re-create it. Her words of advice was it’s the most time consuming cake they have ever made!

Insert Tafe friends here, I enlisted the help of my beautiful Patisserie girlfriends who I taught to make sugar flowers and leaves and we set about to make the hundred or maybe thousands of pretty white foliage that covered all three cakes. It was such a fun day 🤍

I had fun playing with my new .cakes palette knives on this cake. I can definitely recommend them , they were very nice to hold and use. I didn’t actually realise that the metal heads are a lot bigger then those of the regular artist ones I’ve used before so you can get some beautiful and big results too.

I’ve seen some chatter on what to call this style of cake finish, ribbed, combed, the back of a spoon effect. I used a palette knife to create the deep grooves which gives an organic finish compared to using a combed shaped scraper. So I’m torn on what to name it? Any suggestions welcome 💐

This cake is an ivory ganache finish and inside there’s three tiers of mud cake and dark chocolate ganache filling.

She was finished off with a cascade of roses on delivery where the amazing Jane from had a huge bucket of flowers for me ready to clean tape and style on the cake.

This has to be one of the trickiest designs I have been asked to replicate. So much thought went into creating this design in the weeks leading up, thinking of different ideas, mediums and working out the best way to create this look. And I was damn excited when I pulled it off 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

🌸I love a cake that includes a handmade feature flower, I’ve just realised that I must have taken this photo before I decided to add the leaves. I always take a moment to assess the cake and when I’m taking photos is the best time. I often think oh it needs this or that. I actually ended up adding some rose gold peony leaves to add a little pizazz to the top of the cake.
