Currently back in the UK to see my family and attend my brother's wedding in a few weeks time. While we are here, we thought we would do a few trips to places in the area we haven't really been to before. Yesterday we drove to Tetbury for a bit of a look around. How pretty is the old Market House building, beautifully decorated with flowers in autumnal colours.

Thought I'd get out of bed and make a quick brunch using a small bit of zucchini, a few cherry tomatoes, a mushroom, and some bocconcini, served on top of some toast with a bit of rocket from the garden and some avocado on the side.

A bit of greenery in a stripy vase, and some lovely blue-coloured candles that I found at Adairs this afternoon. And then, to make it even more lovely for me 😀, a glass of rosé🍷

A few pictures of stuff around the house, pretty flowers, in my office, some are from the garden, and some I picked on a walk the other day. A few fun pictures on the wall and around the house. Some shots of the refreshed kitchen. I moved the dining table around the other way to make more room for my plants that are taking over the dining area! I also removed two chairs from the dining table and put a small bench on one side instead. This bench was originally in our bedroom—a small IKEA bench that I painted and upholstered years ago. Oh, and a new rug in the lounge room.

It's pretty cold in Perth today; it doesn't happen often when we get temperatures this low. It's quite cold now, even at eleven a.m., its usually much warmer by now, but the sun is shining through the window, and the heater is on. So this little house is starting to warm up now. I'm nice and toasty, helped by my Ugg boots, my cozy cashmere jumper from flannel, and a nice, hot cup of coffee.

The other day I remembered I had a blanket box inside a cupboard. I used to have it as a coffee table in my small office. But when I added some furniture in there a few years ago, I put the blanket box inside a cupboard in the spare room. On the weekend, I decided it would be handy to have it in the front room for the ability to store things in it, so I painted it Annie Sloan versailles and gave it a quick wax.

Then, after spending hours faffing around in the front room, moving furniture, cushions and other bits and bobs about, I decided that I should upholster the top of it, so it could also be used to sit on. So today, that's what I've done. I had to go and buy some material because the piece I had here that I thought would work actually had stains on it. So, a quick trip to Spotlight for some fabric was required, and there we go, one upholstered blanket box complete. I'm not great at upholstery, but it doesn't look too bad. This is probably the sixth thing I have upholstered.

I've just spent the last few weeks pulling off the peeling vinyl from my kitchen drawers and cupboard doors. I decided to paint them with Annie Sloan Old White paint so that they weren't too dissimilar to the kickboards and the side panels. Well, after starting on the last three drawers, I've decided that some colour might be nice. So I have impulsively started painting the last three drawers in Annie Sloan Scandinavian Pink. I'm worried that I'm not going to have enough paint to finish this job today. Unfortunately, the two suppliers of this paint in Perth are nowhere near my house😟
