If you build it, they will come. I'm such a nerd but I love it when the locals come and enjoy the habitat I made for them in my garden. The pot is the tadpole nursery, native pygmy perch live in there and eat the mozzy larvae. The frogs love it.

Imagine... this street I drive past every day on the way home had more verge trees.
With urban Infill and densification we are inevitably losing a lot of our urban canopy. As you can see here (and this is a common site in WA) the introduction of verge trees solves a lot of problems. Urban heat sink, beatification, property values, wildlife habitats, to name a few. I am going to do a series of these illustrating under utilised verges in my local area and imagining trees where they could be. Enjoy..and I hope they inspire you to get council to stick a tree in your verge.

Edible verge at Regina Court development 1 year on. At this project we wanted to make strong connections with the community and also give something back. All the plants are edible or serve a function with fruit trees, herbs for ground cover and vegetables growing seasonally. The fire pit means the space gets used all year round and brings everyone together.
