When I drew this picture I saw the anointing of the Lord overflowing this vessel in my minds eye. Not with water, or oil but with fire, the holy fire of God's love.

Tonight as you read this, may the Holy fire of His love ignite your soul and overflow into what you do for others around you. May His love inspire you to keep going and not give up. May you reflect His loving character and let this be the motivating force coming from within you.

Always remember "love is large and incredibly patient. Love is gentle and consistently kind to all. It refuses to be jealous when blessing comes to someone else. Love does not brag about one’s achievements nor inflate its own importance. Love does not traffic in shame and disrespect, nor selfishly seek its own honor. Love is not easily irritated or quick to take offense. Love joyfully celebrates honesty and finds no delight in what is wrong. Love is a safe place of shelter, for it never stops believing the best for others. Love never takes failure as defeat, for it never gives up." TPT version

My father passed away this year aged 102yrs. This room used to be his office at my parents home. My mum now a widow has allowed me to use this room to set up a little studio for myself.

This gives me a place to start creating free from distractions as well as keeping my mum company in the week. Looking forward to 2018

2013 turned out to be a very dormant year for my creativity. In a period of 4 months, I moved house twice. I am now in the final stages of unpacking and I have a space that I can start being creative again. I hope to be posting many snapshots of ideas that I am working on for 2014 and that the creativity within me will be released. :)

While walking on the beach last year I suddenly looked at cuttlefish with interest. Being from a printmaking background and loving the lino cut technique, I was suddenly realised that cuttlefish could be a great medium to work with.

Here is my first exploration of the medium, I was able to carve into it simply by using a sharp pensil and drawing into the surface.

I plan to experiment with paints and varnish. I am looking forward to the process. It is free and in abundance on the beach. It is always being washed up on shore especially in winter. It is very easy to carve into and I am going to enjoy this process of discovery. I am even looking at the possobility of using it in a printmaking process down the track. As I not only love how you can carve into it, but it also has these beautiful natural grains created within the medium which would create beautiful patterns and lines.

Two friends drop in unexpectedly on me today and I had a wonderful moment talking about our art and creativity. Just sharing with these two ladies have encouraged me so much to continue on my journey.

Today I have worked out that my garage will be my main area I will use as a studio.

Have put the tarp I purchased down on the floor as a drop sheet and set up my easle that I assembled yesterday. I also set up a work station for my children to do some painting while I work today and I have my newborn watching the proceedings from her comfy capsule.

Now to do some creativity
