Fixing up a questionable job🤨

This client had a concrete sleeper retaining wall constructed on there new build 2-3 yrs ago.
Overtime time it sunk, sloped and didn’t uphold the job it was intended too.

After constructing a plan with the client to fix the problem and redesign the shape of the retaining wall, work got under way which revealed that not only were the retaining wall posts set with minimal concrete (I could pull the posts out with my own bare hands 😳), but the sleepers were also sitting on cut up pool fencing as a brace… See in the pics below…..

🪏 Installed new retaining wall posts with correct amount of concrete
🎨Colour corrected posts
🚧Re-installed concrete sleepers
💧 Fixed ag-line behind retaining wall
⛈️Installed a storm water pit to fix another issue for the client (turf is being re-laid to height of pit)

Overall the new wall turned out fantastic and it can now perform to the way it should, and it’s even straight ! 😆

Moral of the story:
-Sometimes cutting corners makes bigger issues
-Short cuts can take longer to fix in the long run
-ALWAYS concrete the posts in FIRST, let the concrete set overnight then install the concrete sleepers to minimise sinking in the future
-NEVER lay a retaining wall on straight dirt (or pool fencing in this case😳)
