I don't usually like to breed crossbreeds and I certainly don't like to keep any crossbred roosters but I got given some eggs last year and I hatched them and this guy was one of them.
Meet Captain Jack! Because I'm sure he looks so much like the actual Captain Jack from pirates of the Caribbean.
He was a family favourite and I was begged not to send him off with the other roosters.
I had crated him up with the others but the family got to me and I brought him back home!
He is basically useless as he probably doesn't carry the blue egg gene so I don't plan on breeding him but he happily lives with two Easter Egger hens. Here he is with one of them.

Today was moving day for the dog house chook!
8 babies and mum moved to a snake proof home for the next 4-6 weeks before they can go into the bigger pen. Now the dogs can have their dog kennel back!

The mother hen, known for her unconventional egg-laying habits, who had chosen the dog kennel as her latest location. We currently have eight chicks that have hatched, with several eggs still pending, and once they have all hatched, we will need to move her and her chicks to a safer area.

I like to keep a few barnyard mix bantams because they make the best mums.
This is Reggie 2.0 and her favourite thing to do is sit on eggs and raise chicks!
This morning we have 2 buff Orpington chicks and a silver pencilled Hamburg chick that have hatched. There are a few more still to hatch today 🤗
