After providing electrical advice and safety recommendations, the customer chose to follow up with another electrical contractor who was ‘cheaper’. Well within the customers rights, however this was the result. A visit from the fire department, a call to us after hours on a weekend to come out and rectify before restoring power.

This Safety Switch was exposed to excessive heat / overcurrent and wasn’t isolating the circuit (tripping) as its designed to do.

A 6-12 month check over your electrical circuits and switch boards can pick up on early symptoms of age or damage.

⚠️ Electrical Cabling Damage ‼️

Close call for the NBN installer.

It’s difficult to know where every cable is but in this case a brief check under the house would have indicated that it wasn’t a good idea to drill there.

Thankfully this residence was up to date with its electrical protective devices and the risk of electrocution was significantly reduced.

Upgrading an electrical switchboard may be costly but it’s a one out insurance premium that will go a long way to protecting your life and others.
