We've just launched something we're really proud of — accessible raised garden beds for aged care.

Gardening is one of the simplest joys there is, but a normal garden bed leaves out anyone who can't kneel, bend or manage a watering can. Ours are built waist-height and wheelchair-accessible, so residents can garden standing, seated or with a hand from a carer — and because the beds water themselves, there's no daily upkeep for staff.

The result is something residents genuinely look forward to: fresh herbs and veg they grow and pick themselves, a reason to get outside, and a shared patch that brings people together. We design, build and install across Sydney and regional NSW.

If you're at an aged care home, retirement village or independent living community, we'd love to show you what's possible.

🌱 Plant, Pick, Share.

Gardening is one of the simplest ways to lift a resident's day — but only if they can reach the soil. Trying to fund a veggie garden at your school? The Stephanie Alexander grant isn't your only option — and depending on your council, it might not even be the easiest one to get.

Over the past few years we've installed wicking beds at schools across Sydney and regional NSW through programs like the City of Ryde's Edible Gardens in Schools project. So we've put together a practical rundown of what's actually out there: council grants, statewide programs, and a few easy-to-miss options most schools never think to check (your Local Health District being one of them).

We've also shared the four things every funded application we've seen has in common — including the one most schools forget about: a holiday-watering plan. (Spoiler: it's where wicking beds quietly win.)

If you're a teacher or P&C lead scoping a garden, have a read — and if you need a realistic costing to drop into your budget section, get in touch. No obligation, just a number you can actually use.

Most school veggie gardens start with good intentions and end the same way — soft, blackened pine, blown-out corners, and plants that give up over the holidays.

It doesn't have to go that way. We build premium timber wicking beds for schools that are made to be a twenty-year fixture, not a two-year experiment — food-safe, fully lined, and self-watering, so they sail through the school break without anyone touching a hose.

From Pennant Hills High to Hurlstone Agricultural College to a rooftop garden at Newington, here's why a growing number of NSW schools are building theirs once and building them properly.

Our very own little Urban Veggie, Luca is doing a brave thing today. After not having a haircut for 3 years he is shaving it off in aid of cancer research.

If this cause it's close to your heart, any donations would be gratefully appreciated. Here is his sponsor page:

A happy customer in Bronte scored these two wicking garden beds today to grow his vegetables.

He can plug a hose into the base and fill them with water once a month. Weeds will struggle to take root due to the dry surface. Snails and slugs will hate it
