Lantern House:

Taking advantage of a view over the side boundary that had to be screened from a neighbour, the main ensuite gazes through angled louvres towards the city skyline.
A refined stylish interior by and the talented offers a luxurious private environment from which the ensconced bather can look out at the icons of Sydney.
The ensuite adjoins a robe - its dressing table and skylight are centred to the doorway, so natural light is reflected back into the bathroom.

Lantern House:

A seamless connection from the main indoor kitchen/dining/living space to the outdoor covered terrace extends the full width of the home. The flush floor transition and open span dissolve the threshold and blur the boundary between inside and outside.

Lantern House:

The main living area extends the full width of the home offering space for the kitchen, dining and living rooms to all connect together. We were thrilled with the elegant and luxurious interiors that and created to work seamlessly with the architecture.

Lantern House:

The seemless connection between internal and external spaces is effected by ensuring there are no interruptions. The transition is mediated by the deep covered outdoor area, a buffer between inside and out, against the summer afternoon sun and rainy skies.

Lantern House:

An all-new build, Lantern House leverages the post-tensioning capabilities of modern structural engineering to create generous uninterrupted internal spaces and column-free cantilevered covered terraces. This ensures views and the connection from indoor to outdoor are always completely unobstructed.

Lantern House:

Swathes of glass are layered to compose the rear elevation and maximise exposure to the view. As sunlight fades the lantern effect comes to life, at the front it is filtered by louvres and openings, but at the rear light pours through and around the whole extent of the facade, revealing inner depths, textures and tones. Bands of light wrap around the spaces activating and articulating them whilst also highlighting the generous open horizontal spans.

Lantern House:

Standing at the front door, the double volume of the entry space is anchored by the stair at the back and flanked by passages either side on the upper level. The whole area is flooded with natural light from the clerestory roof above and louvred glazing over the front door which runs the full width of the space.

As you approach the front door, descending through the lush landscaping, the finer details of each of the screening systems is revealed. Each horizontal and vertical element forms part of a greater component, that in turn forms a portion of the overall composition.

Lantern House:

Each of the three elements that make up the front facade composition are expressed by their verticality, horizontality and materiality, but they are also articulated by how they setback and forth from one another, further defining each as a separate object within the overall arrangement.

Lantern House:

Excited to reveal Lantern House a top Bellevue Hill which is featured in this month’s Belle Magazine.

The presentation to the street is a balance between a vertical element on the left and a horizontal one to the right. The vertical element has horizontal louvres and the horizontal element has vertical louvres. These offer flexible options to modulate the privacy of the rooms facing the street but also articulate the facade. There is a visual balance between the proportion and weights of the composition, without reverting to formal symmetry.

Casa Vista:

The wellness/exercise space flows out to a generous rumpus room with timber lined ceiling that leads to the garden. Hardwood batten screens form archways that articulate the openings and frame the views of landscape and pool.
