Lots of people are asking about the gorgeous flannel flower tea cosy.
So here are some more photos … and where you can get one.
This is the miracle of hand-made. It’s entirely done, slowly and carefully, with knitting needles, wool and thin wire for the flowers.
Three ingredients. That’s it!
It was made for me by Laney who lives in rural NSW.
I am always looking for clever and creative people making a living from their own work. That’s what my shops in Beecroft and Cherrybrook are all about.
And so when I saw Laney’s work I fell instantly in love. She has a passion for Australian plants too. But she doesn’t just admire them, like I do. She translates their shape and colour and form into teacosies.
The cosies are double-thickness and made from beautiful quality wool. The colours are carefully chosen to reflect the living plants.
And every detail is replicated as closely as possible in the wool — including a flannel flower bud, in my little teacosy-bouquet!
It’s pure genius. AI can’t hold a candle to this kind of work.
You’ll find my little teacosy, and Laney’s other exquisite work on her Instagram page
From there you can chat with her about a commission to recreate your favourite flowers in teacosy form.
In my mind, the world would be a far more loving and generous place if we all had a teacosy by Laney sitting on a windowsill or desk nearby …
