Mr Pinbologist Pinball Restorations Pinball machine repairs and restoration to most brands of machine. I do repairs and restoration to most brands of pinball machines. No job too big or small!

Set up in late 2011 from a hobby, with the intention of saving pinball games from ending up in landfill, and to bring them back from the dead. If you have an old pinball gathering dust and not working in your garage or shed etc, i can most likely save it!

Centaur progress; Playfield testing under way, hooked up to my Bally/Stern text fixture I was able to test most (but not all) of the lamps/switches/coils.. it needs to be connected back into the game's wiring harness and board set for everything to work.
The relay on the solenoid expander board was missing it's top cover, and somewhere along the way the spring for the armature plate went missing, so it was necessary to replace the relay!
The playfield is now ready to go back into the cabinet (I need someone here to help with that!!)

Coin door has been assembled with the supplied new coin door parts, and fitted back into the cabinet. In keeping with the mindset that the game is not a total restore, the internal parts were cleaned and only polished/buffed where absolutely needed.

Centaur update; stainless leg/cab protectors fitted.. these had to be cut down as they were protruding below the bottom of the cab (they were for a different style cab originally).

It was discovered that one of the plastic ball guides for the inline drop targets was missing from the new plastics set.. since it was a clear (not printed) plastic, to save time it was decided to remake it from clear polycarbonate plastic. The metal posts were removed from the old plastic and fitted to the new hand cut plastic guide.. turned out pretty good!

Also, what should be the last of the parts needed to finish off reassembly arrived on Friday!

Service call done this afternoon right here in Wauchope; Data East Batman.

Had this game in for a refurbish 12 years ago... At that time it was a rat infested pile of crap when i first got it in. Still going well after all that time with no major issues.. Unbelievable!!! All I had to do today was fit new rubbers that the customer bought for it.. just had to pull the ramps and plastics to get to the ones he wasn't confident do himself. Gave the playfield a quick clean while it was apart and replaced a couple of dead lamps. Checked the memory batteries.. they've not been touched in that 12 years!! Thankfully they hadn't leaked, I advised him to put new ones in, he will change them himself as i didn't have any with me.

Nitro Groundshaker playfield; has cleaned up pretty well, a few touchups that could be done quick and easy have been completed (all the time keeping in mind i have a strict budget to work to on this game). Wood rails cleaned/polished up well so no need to remove and paint them which will save time.

Most of the top side parts will be reused where possible, posts have been ultrasonic cleaned, new lane guides have been ordered, top side reassembly will start soon. Cabinet is currently being dismantled to start the stencil making process and carry out any repairs needed before the repaint.

Gottlieb Spiderman... 95% done but still testing my patience!! Apron and shooter gauge have proven quite the challenge with no decals available (to my knowledge at least), forcing me to get creative.
Decided to try a waterslide decal for the shooter gauge, which turned out quite good after a couple of touchups and a couple of coats of clearcoat. With my cunning plan working out well so far, the apron is next and will be a combination of decal and paint for the artwork and text/logos etc.

Centaur; back onto the playfield.. Underside assembly pretty much completed, except for slingshot & rebound switches which will be fitted after posts and rubbers go on (so alignment can be checked before fixing into position).
More parts arrived a few days ago, so top side assembly about to start!
