Persimmons have quickly become one of my favourite trees to grow. These small fruit trees are equally as ornamental as they are productive.

Firstly, they are the perfect size for small gardens. They can be kept to a height of two metres, or you can let them grow to their full size of about four metres to provide a bit of shade and vertical interest. The foliage turns an array of golds and oranges in autumn, which is really beautiful. The fruit are quite bird resistant too, as persimmons are high in tannins while unripe. This means they are unpalatable to birds, and will generally be left alone until they are ready to be picked (once they are ripe it's fair game though!). Astringent varieties a particularly stong in this regard.

All around a great, multipurpose tree that more than earns its spot in any garden.

Every garden needs a beautiful tree! Why not consider a Robinia 'Frisia'? Fresh, lime green foliage emerges in early spring, followed by scented wisteria-like flowers. In Autumn the leaves turn a rich gold, as shown in the photo. They are quick to establish and very hardy in the local area. They also grow to the ideal size for a smaller garden.

Have a pesky neighbour? Or something ugly next door? Gracillis Bamboo is an excellent screening plant. It grows very fast under the right conditions. Gracillis is a clumping bamboo, so it won't spread and cause havoc. It can be grown in very narrow beds while still providing height. We have them available in an 8 inch pot for $80. We are happy to take orders for bigger jobs.

With the cooler weather it is now time to start thinking about winter vegetables. We have had some rain and the days are becoming shorter. With the situation globally and the impending price rises at the supermarket it makes sense to grow your own. Home grown always tastes so much better and you know what (hasn't ) gone into it.
We have a selection of brassicas ( cabbage, cauliflower, brussel sprouts) as well as silver beet. All individually potted and priced at $1.00 each. Haven't grown your own before? Come in and have a chat.

We have these Curry Leaf trees in stock. They can be quite difficult to source but we have them. This small tree or shrub is a great addition for an edible garden. The leaves can be used fresh in curries or can be dried and powdered. Our plants are $48 in an eight inch pot.
