👋 Meet the Team: Derrick | Managing Director/Owner of Blygold WA
With 15 years at Blygold, Derrick knows a thing or two about corrosion and if you ask him, it’s something that tends to stay top of mind… even outside of work.
What he enjoys most?
Working closely with consultants and project managers - helping them better understand corrosion in HVAC and supporting projects through some pretty tight deadlines.
One thing you might not know…
This role is all-consuming. Derrick admits he’s often spotting AC units while driving (with his wife reminding him to keep his eyes on the road!). There was even the time he ended up crawling through bushes at a resort… just to check condenser coils he’d treated a year earlier.
A standout moment?
Delivering a major mining project of 300+ coils and casings completed against an almost impossible deadline, thanks to a team that stepped up when it mattered.
Outside of work, Derrick swaps tools for tunes 🎸
He and his wife are regular performers at pubs and restaurants, enjoying the music and the connection with the crowd.
Favourite holiday = anywhere the caravan can go 🚐
