โจ Project Feature | Mixed-Use G+4+Jamthog Building โ Samtse Town โจ
๐ Location: Samtse, Bhutan
๐๏ธ Type: Mixed-Use (Commercial + Lodge + Residential)
Proud to share our latest completed project โ a mixed-use development located in the heart of Samtse town, marking a modern architectural presence in southern Bhutan.
Designed on an irregularly shaped plot, the building embraces its complexity with curved rabsel forms and multi-faceted facades, creating a dynamic visual composition that responds naturally to the site context.
The ground floor houses four commercial spaces, activating the street edge and engaging with the urban fabric. The first floor accommodates a lodge, while the upper floors are planned as residential apartments, offering a blend of comfort and functionality.
At the heart of the structure lies a striking double-height Kachen (two-storied) โ a defining feature that celebrates openness and community. This space leads directly to the central lift lobby and doglegged staircase, reinforcing both accessibility and spatial flow.
For enhanced safety and architectural expression, innovative spiral emergency staircases are introduced on both sides of the building โ a modern interpretation of traditional elements in a contemporary context.
The design embodies our philosophy of โmindful modernityโ โ blending traditional Bhutanese architectural motifs with clean, modern lines, representing a progressive vision for Bhutanese urban architecture at the southern gateway of the country.
