BUILDING TIPS
TIP 2.
COMMON MISTAKES CLIENTS COMMIT
Good afternoon.
So, you are the client. You want to build. Well, let's help you here today.
Coming up with a building is the most critical experience in life. The rewards may not show themselves thereof, but as time goes by, things will make sense.
However, a number of us commit some errors which may end up frustrating our efforts of building.
1. Comprised standard of materials.
Due to the economic reasons, some clients prefer to go for cheaper materials as opposed to the ones that may have been proposed handler of the project.
Some clients, especially on roofing materials prefer to buy less and ask roofers to improvise thereby causing a problem.
Please, if you cannot afford to buy the required materials at that time, give time yourself and prepare enough.
2. Who to give your project.
Many of us prefer to give relatives or close friends or those we know simply because we feel we need to help them. And not that they are qualified. This may cost your building. Avoid hiring people based on the relationship you have with them. Hire them based on their capability.
3. Pay your workers normal and on time salaries. Avoid stories when it's time to pay. There are incidences where clients would rather buy materials and take years to pay those using those materials.
4. Sign contracts with those handling your project. This solves misunderstandings. Clearly state how much you will pay and for which services. Mode of payments and so on.
5. Only pay full service charges after works are inspected and you are satisfied with the job. Don't feel shy, if it's not what you want, tell those handling and let them do it again until it is perfect.
6. Never leave your project unattended no matter how much you trust the people working for you. Find time to find out what's going on. Ask questions where you feel things are not going well.
7. Never rely on your own understanding. Seek for professional help.
