With the weather being so gross outside today, we figured we would share some pictures of what's going on here!!

We pretty much have two separate operations on the go!

1. Our Winter Tulip Program!! 🌷

Over 30 varieties of specialty Tulip each meticulously chosen. It's amazing how much logistics and science go into this labor of love. At this point, we are pulling our planted bulbs from our refrigerated storage facility and bringing them into our controlled growroom weekly. Heather knows what varieties she wants available for which week. It's pretty cool, in my opinion!!)

We're looking forward to being back at our favorite place, The Antigonish Farmers Market Association, on February 8th!!! Yay!! Followed by The Valentines Pottery Sale at the arts house on February 9th!!!

2. Our indoor seedling program! That's right! Our grow season is so short here that we have to get an early start. We currently have hundreds of seedlings at varying stages and will continue to start certain varieties weekly!!

Ps. I'm going to try to start taking better pictures. But in all honesty, it's last last thing on my mind when our hands are in the dirt. At times, it can be tricky wearing many hats!! 😃

Have a great day, folks. See you soon !!

While the wind was blowing outside, it was warm and welcoming at the Antigonish Farmers' Market Association kitchen earlier today! The Antigonish Community Fridge hosted their bi-weekly community soup making day. I volunteered for the first time today and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

For the last year, soup has been made from food provided by the Antigonish Community Food Bank and other donors. Local chefs and volunteers lend their talent and time to create absolutely delicious soups from food that would otherwise go to waste. The soup is meant to be shared with anyone who wants to eat it! The motto for soup day is ‘Everyone is welcome at the table.’

Today, Chef Tony and his helpers made two soups - turkey and roasted carrot. I tried the carrot soup with a biscuit - tres yummy! About 30 people came in person, some came for takeout, and the rest (more than 200 bowls) will be placed in the community fridge for anyone to take.

Follow along and join in on the next soup day. It is meant to build community, reduce food waste and create connection. Everyone is welcome.

Bravo to all who are involved with this terrific iniaitive in our community!

Well, hello everyone! We hope you've had great holiday! As the spring draws closer, Heather and I get busier and busier. We already have our grow room fired up in order or provide beautiful blooms sooner!
We can't wait to get back to the Antigonish Farmers Market!
We'll keep you posted as that time draws nearer. Below are a few photos of before and after our property became Heather Hill farm. A few years of backbreaking labor...but it's worth it if you're chasing your dream.
