We come across homes all the time without a house wrap installed under the siding and the home owner does not understand the importance of the house wrap and what is does, so we figured we would share the information with everyone.

Installing Tyvek (or any high-quality house wrap) beneath your home’s siding is one of the most important steps in building a durable, energy-efficient exterior. Tyvek acts as a weather-resistant barrier, allowing moisture to escape from inside the walls while preventing wind-driven rain, drafts, and outside moisture from penetrating the structure. This critical layer helps reduce the risk of mold, rot, and insulation damage—common issues that can develop when homes lack proper protection.

By improving air tightness and enhancing the performance of your insulation, Tyvek also contributes to better energy efficiency and lower heating and cooling costs.
