We’ve been building these personal, back yard greenhouses since 2000 and they are in yards and acreages all across Alberta. We start with flat sheets of galvanized steel that we cut and bend to form the sturdy frame. The panels are made from Lexan ™ polycarbonate. This stuff can withstand 3/4” hail falling at 95 mph which is one of the reasons we stand behind our greenhouse on these Canadian Prairies which are notorious for summer hailstorms and wind.
Our summers benefit from long daylight hours in the summer and that can make a greenhouse heat up fast. To prevent your plants from getting dried and fried, consider adding a roof vent (we make those too, and no electricity is required).
We’re proud of our product. We have tweaked the design slightly over the years to ensure it is as indestructible as you need it to be. We make these greenhouses so that gardeners can thrive on the Prairies.
