It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here. Life continues to get busier. The workload in my full time job has increased, while my 3 kids are growing and needing so much. But this week I’ve been off and able to carve out a bit of time to sit down and draw, and my girls have been drawing alongside me (they continue to amaze me with their creativity!). With the New Year comes a resolution to take more time for art as well as continue to teach my girls (and my little guy, who is beginning to draw) some skills that help them on their artistic journey as well.

9 years ago I created this piece to mark something momentous in my life- love. This painting was featured in our engagement photos and displayed at our wedding, and now hangs in our home, where it will always symbolize the promise we have made to each other.
Today is our 9th wedding anniversary and our middle child’s birthday. We have so much to be grateful for. We have each other. Happy anniversary

This beauty is finally done and hanging. I think there will be more birds in the future. I loved working on the feathers, especially the long wing feathers. I don’t love working on wood panels, but seeing the wood grain in the black makes such a nice effect.
