This tiered wall shelf was handcrafted from solid red oak, with softly rounded edges and an open, asymmetrical design that gives plenty of room for books, plants, and the pieces that make a home feel personal.

Not every story ends the way you expect.

A customer accidentally cracked this live edge shelf during installation. At first, we thought we could repair it.

But after seeing it in person, we knew the repair would always be visible.

So instead of fixing it, we built a brand new shelf.

Real wood isn’t perfect. It’s unique. And sometimes standing behind our work means starting over.

Every year around this time, our workshop starts getting busier and busier.

We’re almost at our capacity for August custom orders, and we wanted to give you a heads-up before it’s too late.

As we get closer to Christmas, most of our time goes into holiday orders, which means we may only be able to accept a limited number of custom projects during October, November, and December.

If you’ve been thinking about a custom shelf, piano coat rack, hat rack, live edge piece, or another custom project, now is the best time to reach out.

We never rush our work or take on more projects than we can handle. Every piece is handmade, and we want to give each one the time and attention it deserves.

This project took us almost two months before we even made the first cut.

Because finding the right piece of wood was just as important as building the shelf.

Our customer was renovating her living room and wanted a floating shelf that would become part of the space—not just another piece of decor.

She visited our workshop, looked through different wood species, and together we talked about the look she wanted, the warmth she was after, and what would suit her home best.

Then the search began.

We contacted supplier after supplier until we finally found this stunning live edge maple slab.

The moment we saw it, we knew it was the one.

Today it’s hanging in her home, and seeing how perfectly it fits her space reminds us why we love custom work.

Every home is different.
Every piece of wood is different.
That’s exactly how we like it.
