Hello friends 👋,
I hope that you are all well!
I want to start out by saying that I am sorry that it has been so long since I last posted on here. I thought that I would just take a quick moment to update you all and let you know that my family and I have just finished moving out of Caledon East up to our new home in Parry Sound! It has been a big transition, as I am sure you can all imagine, but I am very happy that my husband, 4 kiddos and I are all starting to feel settled in now after what has been a pretty crazy journey.🙂
The past several months have been a whirlwind to say the least. As many of you know, my daughter who has a very rare genetic disorder called Coffin Siris Syndrome, was scheduled to have spinal fusion surgery to try to correct her severe scoliosis this past July. This was the main reason why I initially took a break from taking orders/producing any new products. The surgery was suddenly cancelled just four days prior to surgery because there was an issue with the results from her pre-op testing on her heart. We had to wait until the end of October to finally be seen by the cardiology department at Sick Kids for some follow- up testing. Just a couple of weeks ago we were given the results of those tests. Unfortunately it has been confirmed that she has a large hole in her heart that needs to be repaired. This will obviously need to be addressed next year before we can even plan for the spinal fusion surgery to take place now.
My family and I casually began our hunt for a new home in the late spring of this year, but once we had received notice that the spinal surgery needed to be put on hold, we began to search more aggressively. We took many long family drives each weekend all over cottage country in attempt to find our next home close to the nature and water that we have all been craving. After starting to feel quite discouraged, we were suddenly lucky enough to be able to purchase our new home in late August but had just one month until the sellers needed to close. So here we are now- happy to have the dozens of house showings, weeks of packing, unpacking and everything else that goes along with quickly buying and selling a home behind us now.
I just want you all to know that I absolutely loved sharing my passion for plants with so many of you and I want to say a big THANK YOU for all of the amazing small business support! I have not forgotten about you and have been wanting to reach out for awhile now. Although I have had to put a pause on Botanical Trends for the past little while, I want you all to know that I have still been brainstorming ways to jump back into it again when the timing feels right. Until then, happy growing!🌱
💚 Cheryl
